Shree Shree Dhakeswari Matar Mandir is in the Kumortuli area of North Kolkata. The idol is made of Ashtadhatu or eight metals, which are gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, tin, iron and mercury. The idol was brought from Bangladesh during the riots. During the Durga Puja the idol is clad with a full length Benarasi saree of the finest quality. How the saree is carefully wrapped around the idol and the rest of the cloth placed before the goddess is something really worth seeing. Watch the second picture carefully.
